August 23, 24, 25
ITTA proudly hosting the first annual Thai Massage National
Conference and Exchange. Certified Instructors from Thailand and
the United States along with Certified Practitioners and Students
will be gathering for three days of workshops, forums, exchanges
and networking on the land at beautiful Luma. All major styles
and recognized styles and systems will be represented: SomaVeda,
Nuad Boran, Royal Thai... Wat Po, Old Medicine School, ITM, Buddhai
Sawan as well as prominant schools and instructors in the US.
Presentations will be offered on styles, clinical applications
including Thai Style Pancha Karma, Thai Yoga, Meditation, Herbology,
as well as Theory and technique. Additional fine presentations
will be on various related topics including Thai Culuture, food,
history and health philosophy. The emphasis for our first national
conference will be on exchanging sessions, ideas and energy as
well as addressing how to take our incredible art to the world.
We have a growing list of Certified Instructors committed to presenting
their particular specialties and invite any Certified Instructor
interested to submit a proposal directly to ITTA. CEU's will be
offered for all courses and mini workshops offered.
Please note: Effective 08/03/02, the format for the conference
has been changed! We did not receive enough support in the way
of advanced registration to make a full blown official conference
work, however, we do have enough support to keep the gathering
and exchange together for all! So, the "Official " conference
with the many courses and professional speakers is rescheduled
to next summer, and, we are instead hosting a Free For All, Thai
Massage Gathering and Exchange! No experience necessary as we
will be needing warm bodies! We still have practitioners and instructors
from around the country coming, they will just be presenting now
informally. We will be trading and exchanging sessions, ideas,
information and energy for three days. We will also be sharing
the beautiful land at Luma. Saturday evening we will be sharing
a community sweat lodge ceremony. There will be time for community
discussions on the relevancy and future of Thai Massage and an
organizational meeting for planning the next conference. There
will now be NO Charge for attendance, however, the Luma fees will
still be in effect. Luma is offering a package price of $110.00
for the three days and two nights including food. Advanced registration
will still be required. For further information call the office
at (231)343-6972.
P.S. ITTA Master Instructor Dr. Anthony B. James will be previewing
his new class/ program "SomaVeda, Advanced Thai Massage
for Yoga Practitioners and Instructors" (Level 6). Attendees
will be among the very first in the US to see and experience this
level, first time taught in the US!

of Thai Massage. For more information check here for updates or
